Map of Maribo County, Denmark

This is a map of the county Grandpa Jensen came from. The family lived basically in the western part of the county. For those of you who read the family trees having a visual reference of the location of the various parishes should be interesting. It's a very small geographic area!

Peder's Tree

This is the tree for Peder's ancestors (Peder was Grandpa Jensen's father, married to Rasmine).
I got a lot of information here! The majority of records were found in the Danish archives.
All records are from Maribo Amt (county) in Denmark. Any record that has a page number ("ops ##") is one that I verified (actually SAW the handwritten record in the parish church book). Some records were from www.familysearch.org. Records were also verified thru the online Danish census records.

Updated Trees

I've been researching the Danish church book records for the past five months and have a lot of new information to add. Previously I posted a tree with Rasmine's ancestors (Rasmine was my great-grandmother, the mother of Grandpa George Jensen). Well, that's a bit outdated now... and so here are updated trees for Rasmine's parents - one for her father Jens Laurits Rasmussen and one for her mother Ane Jakobsdatter.

Metha and Hans Hansen's Grave Marker

This is a picture of the grave marker for Grandpa Jensen's sister Metha (early records spell her name "Meta" but she is "Metha" in the 1916 census). Note that Hans is a "hotelejer" which means a hotel owner or proprietor.

I do not know who Harry and Knut are... yet! I'm on the trail, though. :)

Yet one more sister

Rasmine had a baby girl on 29 Jan 1890. The baby died on the 30th and then Rasmine died on the 31st. They were buried together on 7 Feb 1890.

Here are Rasmine's ancestors. Any fact with a location has been verified (I've seen an image of the original record in the parish book).
[Rasmine was Grandpa Jensen's mother. She died when he was very young.]

Another Sister!!

This photo taken in Nakskov Denmark about 1913/1914 is Grandpa Jensen's sister Meta Margrethe and her husband Hans Hansen. They were married 28 Apr 1905 in Ryde, Denmark.
The children are:
Inger Rasmine b 17 Jun 1906 in Kappel
Ellen Margrete b 5 Sep 1907 in Kappel
Niels Peder b 19 Mar 1909 in Sandby
Edith Dorthea Malvina b 9 Nov 1910 in Sandby
Svend Aage b 8 Mar 1912 in Sandby

A sixth child, Else Margot was born 16 Jan 1915 in Sandby.

I had not known that Meta existed until I saw her name in a census and then looked back in the birth records for Ryde parish. She was born 15 Jan 1883 (between the two Hans Peders).
